Stronger Communities Grants

The 2017/18 Round of the Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) will be opening soon in Burt.

If you would like to submit an Expression of Interest before officially submitting your application, please fill out the form below.

What is the Stronger Communities Programme?

The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects that improve community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities.

There is a total of $150,000 over two years available to Burt to fund a maximum of 20 projects.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for funding an applicant must be a legal entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN), such as.

  • Local government agencies
  • Incorporated not-for-profits and;
  • Trustees acting on behalf of a property trust that are responsible for a community asset

The project must be located in the Burt electorate and applicants must be able to demonstrate matched funding for the project, in cash or in-kind.

To ensure you are eligible, click this link and read through the page including the programme guidelines, fact sheet and sample applications located at the bottom of the page.

What are some examples of grants that have been successful?

Examples of successful applications in previous rounds of the SCP in Burt include:

  • $15,000 for additional transportable classrooms at the Gosnells Community Men's Shed;
  • $15,000 for the City of Gosnells Youth Service Purpose Built Activities Trailer; and
  • $11,318 for a new patio at the Gosnells Football Club.

Raising matching funds can be a challenge for any organisation, but my office is here to help you and to support you in meeting this program requirement (for example past applicants have successfully used crowdfunding campaigns to raise in-kind contributions for this program or had funding matched by local government).
